Overview
Frontends and APIs can be hosted on the NEXT platform. To make them publicly accessible we route the traffic through a web application firewall (WAF). The WAF takes care of security related issues like prevention of DDoS attacks, sql injection and other attacks. Moreover at the WAF x509 certificates for the *.endress.com domain are provided to enable TLS encryption (https). The WAF is managed by E+H InfoServe, so also provisioning of static IP addresses and DNS entries is handled in one place.
